Recently, i kept getting this call from Malaysia +6034563456. My friend told me that this number is from Malaysia, +6 belongs to Malaysia, 03 belongs to Selangor.
I first received a call from this number 2 weeks ago. The guy on the other line introduced himself & told me he was from DUNNO WHAT company & asked me to attend a promotion event over DUNNO WHICH shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur.
I was asking myself "what a heck, can't he understand that the number which he was calling is a Singapore number". What made him thought that i was so interested to attend some stupid event that took place in Kuala Lumpur so far away. What is more surprising to me was that he could even address me by my name too. When pressed for an answer as to where did he get my contact, he said i took part in a dunno what lucky draw in KL one month ago. But shit, i did not leave Singapore for the last 2 months, not to mention that i went to KL. So i told him that i was not interested & cut short the conversion.
After 2 days from that, he called again to say that during the promotion event, i was being selected from the lucky draw & requested that i collect my wins over there. I was really pissed off & told him straight that i was NOT INTERESTED AT ALL. I even told him to stop giving me all these calls as they are international & i may need to pay for it. The guy sensing my displeasure SHOUTED BACK AT ME & hung up. Idiot!
One week later after that, a call from this number came in again. I just hung it up without even answering it. Today, it came in again...... i just hang up.
I am still wondering how they managed to get my contact no. & my name too. My friend told me this possiblility: sometimes when we go shopping, there are lucky draws which we fill in our personal particulars in order to participate. Lets say if we did not strike a win, the filled coupons will be collected by some organization & the info will be sold around the place within Singapore & then later to other countries. That's why when they called, they know whom are they talking to.' I find this is really scary. Let's say if someone who is gullible enough is being targeted, isn't that terrible? If she's a female, not only will she be cheated of her money, but also her body too.

it's a scam.... and hang up their phone wont help.... i F them upside down last week and and they still call me yesterday....
i simply play along...
just give them the bogus detail, especially bogus bank acc#....i didnt even bother to provide the address since they will provide the service of converting the prize into 120K Cash....blablabla..
then, they will say something like will submit the prize claim application and their supervisor will call in a few days time....
ok, not few day but today they call ..from hong kong number this round (+85267244008) .. to cut short story....

. when i answer the call i told her i lost my job this morning..., still have tonnes of credit card bill to pay.. i preempt before she go into detail...hehehe........ so, this winning come at the right time.....
she moves into the claiming procedure....as expected, i need to pay 10+K tax in order to claim the winning prize....
so, i told her, no money, only debt and lost job this morning..., can she loan me and i paid back in double since she know well enough i have won the 100K+..........she said cannot, due to blablabla company policy.....but i keep asking her to loan me that 'small" amount.... in the end, she said--> , so, can i void your prize claiming form? and i go--> what to do since i have no $ to pay the tax...please do so.... then she hung up.... i hope they wont call back...
If they really wanna cheat u, they can make countless number of phone calls to u. In this world, there is no free lunch, we should believe none of these nonsense.
By the way, this is not the first time i get these kind of spam calls. Last time from China, HK, from dunno which 'chow angmoh' country, also has. Be careful.
These buggers called me too! WHAT the HELL MAN! I was just being nice and HELPED them with a survey~ based on what the most recent guy called, the survey was done on 19th March 2010 at 11.35am~ WATEVA~
And this guy called in, I used a fake name, and definitely I know that they're from the same company~
I screwed him upside down sia~ and said that if they were to call me again, I'll file a case to sue them. Then that F*ker keep insisting that why I am so irritated and dun like their company so much~ c'mon lar...
These IDIOTS got nothing better to do then calling people to harrass them? WTF~
At last i found this article. OMG... im here because i recieved a 23second call and the number is not familiar, it even stated on my phone that the call was Malaysia. What the heck i got a call and the girl caller said "congratulations you won, please press number 1" and i said,"what?" Then she ends the call right away.
@Unknown Last month i received a call from one European country. I accidently answered it. But within a couple of seconds i hung up. U know what happened? The following month, SingTel charged me $2 for international call. I traced the date and it was the one i just mentioned. What? A 2s call can cost me $2??? WTF.
